Donato J. Tramuto, Chief Executive Officer
Donato J. Tramuto is the CEO of Tivity Health®, Inc., a leading provider of fitness, nutrition and social engagement programs, including SilverSneakers®, the nation’s leading fitness program for older adults and Nutrisystem®, a leading weight management program. A recognized innovator and industry leader with nearly four decades of healthcare experience, Donato was named a ‘global healthcare activist’ by The New York Times and is a frequent public speaker on healthcare access, business leadership, healthy aging and social isolation.

In less than a year after being named Tivity Health’s CEO, Tramuto executed a turnaround of the company’s performance and engineered a creative sale of a non-performing division, adding nearly $1 billion of valuation to the company. In March 2019, under Donato’s leadership, Tivity Health completed its acquisition of Nutrisystem, creating an integrated portfolio of fitness, nutrition and social engagement solutions to support overall health and wellness.

Before joining Tivity Health, Tramuto founded Physicians Interactive Holdings (now known as Aptus Health), a global provider of insight-driven digital engagement solutions for healthcare professionals and consumers.

In 2011, Tramuto founded Health eVillages, a non-profit organization which provides state-of-the-art mobile health technology in the most challenging clinical environments and has worked to address healthcare access, recognizing that universal healthcare is a basic human right for all people.

He is also the chairman and founder of the Tramuto Foundation, an organization he founded after the tragic events of September 11, 2001. For the last two decades, the foundation has helped young individuals, as well as organizations, achieve on their vision for a right to education and healthcare access, as well as addressing human rights violations.

Tramuto has been widely recognized for his more than three-decade commitment to social change and healthcare innovation. In 2014, he was honored with the prestigious Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award. Tramuto holds honorary doctorates from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, Thomas Jefferson University, Lasell College and Saint Joseph’s College. In 2018, he was recognized as an n4a Aging Champion by the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging.

A member of the board of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, Tramuto is chairman of its Leadership Council where he is leading a national initiative to address workplace dignity and inclusion. Tramuto is also chairman of the board of Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice & Human Rights Europe.

Tramuto serves on several executive leadership boards, including the board of the Boston University School of Public Health, the Livongo Health Foundation, the Brown University Healthcare Leadership Board, the board of directors of Sharecare, Inc., and the board of directors of GoCheck Kids.
